Brrrr … that last cold front was brutal!
Just had a front sweep through here overnight. It got pretty chilly but that didn’t keep us from getting in some snorkeling.
I’m working on “no tan lines”!

Sun sets on Boot Key Harbor.
It’s only a matter of three more weeks before we set sail for the east coast. It’s certainly going to be hard to leave here after settling in for almost three months!!! I know this is going to be a little hard on our northern friends, but it’s been getting pretty darn hot here. Heat index has been in the 90’s.
The fronts have been passing with less intensity so we’ve been able to go fishing and snorkeling more often. Sombero Reef is a short trip out to the south. It is a very pretty reef with lots of coral and fish. There are eleven mooring balls to tie up to and by the time you get your fins and mask on the fish are stacked up under the boat. Sergeant Majors and Yellowtail Snapper are there by the thousands. Mixed in with these you’ll see some Grunts, Parrotfish, Grouper, Barracuda and occasional a shark.
Coupled with our snorkeling trips we usuall will fish at adjacent reefs as fishing is not allowed on Sombero. We’ve done fairly well for amateur fisherman. As the following pictures will attest, we’ve got some Grunts, Yellowtails, Hogfish and one Spanish Mackerel and one Ceiro Mackerel. We’ve also taken the dinghy out in Sisters Creek area and loaded up on Grunts and various Snappers.
As you can see here I haven’t lost any weight!!! Eating way too good.
